Magical Unicorn sighting in Germany

There’s even more than Oktoberfest going on in Germany right now. Actual unicorns are wandering around inside people’s homes. We just received this photographic evidence of a recent unicorn sighting in the home of Tim LaBenz. We agree with Tim that its clarity puts previous crytozoological sightings to shame:

German unicorn sighting

Tim explains: “Last night we were celebrating a birthday for our Archie McPhee-crazed 12 y.o.’s birthday. (Cade is the cool kid-o with the nail through his finger opening up his presents.) In the midst of the celebration we were able to capture this random unicorn sighting (but of better quality than other famous -yet grainy- sightings like Bigfoot or Loch Ness, you be the judge).”

In addition to the awesome sighting of a magical creature, this photo serves as further proof that Archie McPhee has the best customers ever. Thanks Tim!

No one can be mad at you when you wear a Pug Mask

Take one look at that adorable wrinkly face and you’ll know it’s true. No one can be angry with you while you’re wearing this latex Pug Mask. Just point your giant, sorrowful eyes and tilt your oddly-shaped head, and all the adults within range will be trying to feed you snacks and rub behind your ears.

This is a full-sized adult mask that is sure to be a hit at the dog park. It is so realistic that as soon as you put it on, you’ll feel the urge to snort, beg for food and dress up as a portly, sad bumblebee.

Check out this video for a demonstration of the disarming power of the Pug Mask:

Caution: horses and unicorns at work

Here at Archie McPhee headquarters we’re currently having the floors redone with cork. It’s a pretty exciting development for the people who walk on those floors all the time, but the new flooring isn’t actually the best part of this project.

What’s really awesome is that members of the Floor Coverings International crew working on this job have been spotted wearing Horse Head Masks and Magical Unicorn Masks:

Here’s an industry secret: After a Unicorn has been through a room with a vacuum, each step you take on that floor releases the sweet scent of cotton candy!

This is a skilled and safety-conscious bunch of guys, so we aren’t going to claim that they’ve been wearing the masks the whole time, but they also clearly know how to win our hearts and make themselves stand out from the competition.

Horse Head Mask sighting: The tale of a lovesick horse

Two From SPb made this awesomely silly music video entitled “Wild Horse“. The video features our creepy Horse Head Mask and tell the story of “a wild horse who doesn’t like Kate Moss. It likes a girl from a Russian town. But she lives with a bear and she doesn’t care.”

Slicey the Pig comes to life

One of the highlights of the Halloween season is the entire Archie McPhee store staff dressing up in different costumes for an entire week leading up to (and including) Halloween itself. There have been many truly great costumes over the years. (You can peruse a few years’ worth via the store’s Flickr account: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and of course this year: 2012)

Halloween 2012 is still a few days away, but we’ve already seen a costume that is sure to go down in Archie McPhee history as one of the best. It’s as hilarious as it is frightening. Behold the wonder that is Dan’l dressed up as Slicey the Pig Dashboard Wiggler, the only pig who is so eager for you to taste how delicious he is, he’s already carving himself up for you:

We’ve even got video of Dan’l standing in the street in front of the store, merrily slicing away at himself for passing cars:

Many customers were creeped out and children terrified, so as far as we’re concerned, mission accomplished. Happy Halloween! Who wants some bacon?
