Bon voyage to the Happy Mutant Mobile

MG_0292

Boing Boing just unveiled their Happy Mutant Mobile, a fantastically modified 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon. That’s right, Boing Boing is hitting the road and they’re taking all sorts of wonderful weirdness with them.

The vehicle was modified by Theresa Contreras and her team at San Dimas, CA-based L&G Enterprises. The interior features a library containing all sorts of sensational reading materials provided by Fantagraphics Books and Last Gasp. The rear doors open to reveal an honest to goodness Cabinet of Curiosities. Archie McPhee was delighted to contribute a treasure trove of oddities and curiosities for this awesome feature.

Finger Monster sighting

We love spotting our products in the wild and there’s something particularly cool about seeing depictions of them in people’s artwork. So we were delighted to spot one of our Deluxe Finger Monsters in this wonderful painting by Midwestern artist Ken Keirns:

Entitled Social Network, it was part of a solo exhibition of Keirns’ artwork, “Deja Vu, Selected works from Ken Keirns”, which recently took place at the Madelife gallery in Boulder, CO.

Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Hooray, January 21st is Squirrel Appreciation Day!

So let’s all put on our Squirrel Masks:

And celebrate this very special day with a squirrel-sized cup of coffee:

Treat your squirrel friends to a nice meal (they have no idea how silly they’ll look):

And please give those embarrassingly naked squirrels some underpants so we can stop shielding our eyes at the park:

Happy New Year!

2014 is the Year of the Horse, which makes us even more excited to ring in the new year. Although the Chinese or Lunar New Year doesn’t officially begin until January 31st, we’d like celebrate with a little Chap Hop (rapping in a faux-Victorian style) performed by the always awesome Professor Elemental in a video featuring our Creepy Horse Mask:

(If you enjoy this song, try putting on some Fighting Trousers)

Wookiees love Bigfoot

Talk about celebrity endorsements! Chewbacca sent us this picture of himself wearing our Bigfoot Sweater.

He says, “Rrrrwwrgh, Gwarrrrrrgh, Aargharrrrrawwwwgrrrrragggh.” Translated: “This sweater is warmer than the insides of a Tauntaun. It even smells slightly better.”

The Bigfoot Sweater is a limited edition 2013 holiday special. Buy one here before Chewie’s family snatches up the rest.

Unicorn pumpkin king

While unicorns love summer for all its sunshine and rainbows, they are also fond of autumn. We took this unicorn to a corn maze and he declared himself king of the pumpkin patch.

You know how some people are really good at picking out a good melon? Rumor has it that Unicorns have a highly developed sense that enables them to choose the perfect pumpkin.

Thanks to Stocker Farms for letting us take pictures!
