I even remember telling my Mom, “Maybe it’s going to be a ghost like the ones they use in the movies” She just nodded approvingly, thinking I was a bit delusional I’m sure.

When I received it I was so happy, until I opened the package. There before my eyes was some fishing line, a balloon and what could have been a 30 gallon garbage bag cut to look like a ghost.

Money wasted, I felt like the kid in the movie “A Christmas Story” after his Orphan Annie decoder pin spelled out the advertisement to eat Malt-O-Meal.

Looking at the image of the ad, does make me a bit nostalgic for those days of youth.

But no misleading come-on stung like that damned 2-boy submarine in the comic books … just a bunch of unassembled cardboard panels, and it didn’t shoot a torpedo like the one in the book did!
